With deliveries starting in 2008 at £170,000 , the DBS featured Pirelli P-Zero tyres, especially designed by Pirelli for the DBS, and an extra 50 bhp more than its sister car the DB9, although 10 bhp less than the Vanquish S.
Aston new that the demand for this car would be high, but the demand sky-rocketed after the DBS featured in both the 2006 James Bond film Casino Royale and the 2008 film Quantum of Solace.
The soft top Volanté version was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show in 2009 and released in the same year. It shares the same bhp as the Coupé, the same 0-60 time and the same top speed, however Aston Martin make it clear that the 191 mph top speed could petentially cause damage to the fabric roof, although they say it is unlikely.
The DBS is still in production and will continue to do so for several more years.
