He was riding one of his Segways, that had been designed especially for off-road use, around his estate in North Yorkshire when he lost control and was driven off of a cliff.
Police said that they “were called at 11.40am yesterday to reports of a man in the River Wharfe, apparently having fallen from the cliffs above.
“A Segway-style vehicle was recovered. He was pronounced dead at the scene. At this time we do not believe the death to be suspicious.”
Mr Heselden, aged 62, has been the boss of Segway since last year.
